07/13/2023 21:01:56Hello Frank,
I had a bit of a delay again however I am about to start on the decoders. Looks like chips are in stock here both at Mouser and Digikey. It appears AutoCad has made things harder for the use of Eagle. I have downloaded KiCad and it looks very nice. I think there is a feature that will convert the Eagle files to KiCad. Are there any updates made to either the DIY2 or Mini I should be aware of? Regards - Alan in USA

03/14/2023 13:38:58Hallo Frank,

02/14/2023 16:47:19Hello Alan,
Both decoders (Mini and DIY2) have the same schematic and software. They differ only in the size of the components used.
Best regards
Frank

02/11/2023 18:25:33After a delay I am back at you site and moving ahead on construction a few decoders. You have many listed. Which version would be the latest both in the circuit and the code?
Thank you.
Regards - Alan in the USA

I'll see what I can figure out from your site and a little trial and error.

01/16/2023 18:20:42Hello Scott,
I have set the maximum number of characters in the guestbook to 10000. Hopefully that's enough.
If you use the XIAO RP2040, please consider that you will need additional components, such as a voltage regulator, power transistors to control the motor and brake, and transistors to control the light.
The XIAO RP2040 only replaces the PIC16F1824. All other components are still required.

01/15/2023 19:05:46Sorry for splitting up of the reply, guest book = short messages.
These tiny dev boards are only 12 bucks CAD, and available.
Was hoping someone here might be able to make it work, or help me figure it out.
I'm a noob...

01/15/2023 18:46:45Oh awesome, thanks for the feedback Frank.
These are the tiny microprocessors on Amazon: "Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040 Microcontroller with Dual-Core ARM Cortex M0+ Processor, Supports Arduino, MicroPython and CircuitPython with Rich Interfaces"

01/15/2023 08:01:04I am not familiar with the XIAO RP2040. Any microcontroller is suitable that has the following peripherals: Capture unit to measure the pulses of the CU, PWM for the IR diode, PWM to control the brake, PWM to control the motor,- General IOs for light.
